kind of study, is it?

The journal article chosen explains more about the effects of poverty and inequality on the little children. The topmost part of this article expounds generally on the concept of poverty and inequality. The article is describing done research the talks about inequality as a global catastrophe.  Secondly, the journal article explains more about the effects or the outcomes of poverty and inequality on the health of the children being born on the bad side of the inequality. 2.

  1. What is the name of the journal article? What are the credentials of the author(s)? What do the abbreviations after the name(s) mean? Do they enhance the authors’ credibility? Explain.

The name of this journal article is Inequality and Poverty from the journal of child health care. The author of this article is the editor in chief which instantly gives him (Bernie Carter) credentials. After the name of the author, there are not abbreviations.

  1. Is the author affiliated with an organization or institution? Does the affiliation with the organization or institution enhance the authors’ credibility? Briefly explain.

The name of the author is Bernie Carter. He has a job at the journal of child health care as the editor in chief in the Edge Hill University in the United Kingdom. This position was given to him in the journal as the editor in chief acts as a form of credibility. This simply means he has the knowledge and experience of what he doing.

3.

  1. Is scientific research being presented or discussed? Is the research current (within the last 5 years)?

Scientific research is widely being presented and for the most part information that is one-sided. Scientific research is not being discussed because there is no presentation of any information from a given point of view. Almost all of the conducted research is recent. The research was conducted after the year 2015 and the journal article was posted for review in February of the year 2018.

  1. If so, what specific kinds of research or data are presented or cited to support the ideas?

There is a lot of research that was conducted to support this kind of idea. Only one report is available in the research which is included. Much other research is articles that are for some different companies or organizations, which questions its credibility and reliability and how is the information one-sided. There several sources that are used and they are originated from the www.theconversation.com website which certainly raises some critical questions. Are becoming writers and authors of articles on this website therefore, according to me there is not much credibility to the mentioned sources.

  1. Were references listed to allow readers to investigate the information’s source? Were full citations provided?

There is a long list of provided references at the bottom end of the article alongside with all of the original sources. All of the listed references have citations.

Identify the statements in the article that you believe and those that you do not believe, and discuss why or why not for each.

I believe that the creation and investing of programs of and having and expenditure of $3 trillion on the development will boost the area’s economy. There exist many factors that are affecting the economy and poverty. What I don’t believe is that the development of such programs is simple to do since they require expertise, time and money.

What reputable sources other than those listed in the periodical would you refer to if you were to research the article’s topic further?

I would continue with the journal of child health care, take a look at the journal of health population and nutrition and also the journal of nutrition and education. I would also like to look at the UCO library database such as ProQuest to get some additional statistical information.
