females refuse to be excluded from male-dominated activities, or they try to keep up with the dominant masculine environment
Arturo Aguirre Jr;
In your prompt, you have indicated in your similarity section that “…females refuse to be excluded from male-dominated activities, or they try to keep up with the dominant masculine environment.” However, I believe that in some instances, females agree to be excluded from the male-dominated activities. For instance, Prokos and Padavic indicate that during field training, male students did not accept the idea of being partnered with female trainees since it proved even hard to carry the heavy load with them. Moreover, the female trainees did not like the idea of being partnered with fellow female trainees since they did not believe in their physical strength.
Another instance that showed the females’ unwillingness to be included was while mentioning the salary and benefits. In such meetings, all the female students had the opportunity to ask issues that are specific to women such as maternal leave and other efforts to integrate the women. These two instances, thus prove the female trainees’ incapability to fight for their rights even when offered the opportunity to do so. Since these women were already aware of the gender discrimination that took place in the heterosocial settings, why did they remain silent amidst all the happenings? Despite the women empowerment programs that have been provided to women in the world, why do they remain passive in fighting for their positions at the same table with men?
