Fluid balance
A statistician was given the opportunity of determining a tool to be used that is appropriate and adequate for data collection and analysis purposes. The fluid from three hospitals was recorded for a 48-hour patient stay at the facility from 1 July to 31 December 2011. The data collection was conducted using a simple random sampling technique to select the patient records to be used for the audit.
