Group Assignments
Most group assignments are aimed at improving the spirit of teamwork. The cooperation between members of a group is essential in ensuring the success of any team activity. However, group assignments are subject to facing challenges coming from the difference in priorities by members. The ability to employ individual efforts has a significant impact towards ensuring that the group members become determined towards achieving the common goal. Also, the fact that the grades assigned depend on the contribution necessitates combined effort so that the highest grades are earned. Personal strengths are crucial in ensuring that the group earns the highest grade.
Reliability is one of the strengths that each member should uphold for a successful group project. Groups can easily fall when individuals take advantage of working online to commit themselves to tasks and later give excuses for not having completed the tasks (Meyers et al. 50). A group that has reliable group members can complete a task in a short time and still score high grades.
Communication is also a crucial strength that every member of a group needs. Group works involve the discussion of ideas before decisions are made. Therefore, members should be open to communicate with each other. A member should not remain silent when they know that a certain idea will not work. Therefore, good communication helps in coming up with excellent assignments that always fetch the highest grades.
Flexibility is a strength that every team member should have for a successful group assignment. Working in a group exposes an individual to several changes that require flexibility. For example, a group will always experience people leaving while others are joining. Also, the budgets and expenditures of a group are subject to change easily. The group members should, therefore, learn to adapt to such changes without affecting the operation of the group. Flexibility comes as the ability to accept new challenges. A group that is composed of flexible members always completes their tasks on time and score high grades.
Self-starters play a crucial role in group work. Sometimes, group members fail to give priority to the assignment given. If the group does not have a self-starter, the assignment does not get done. The importance of being a self-starter is that an individual knows the personal aspirations and the importance of the assigned assignment. If all the members in the group are self-starters, then the task becomes a bit easier because no one has to be pushed to play their role in the group.
Understanding is crucial in the operation of every group. In most cases, members have different backgrounds as well as working capacities. Therefore, members will always give excuses that will appear invalid but will require to be excused. Team members should be able to understand the character traits of other members and accept working with them. A group that is composed of members who understand each other tends to become successful.
In sum, group assignment aim at fostering the spirit of teamwork on members. Cooperation among team members is crucial for the success of the group. Personal strengths are crucial in that members have to motivate each other to tackle the assignments presented to them. Generally, the ability to maintain personal strengths in a group ensures the success of every group.
