Healthcare programs
Discussion
Question 1
Healthcare programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare, have been impacted by several evolutions in the healthcare sector. Americans have, in recent years, become sensitive to the need to protect their health. Therefore, Americans have developed an interest in purchasing healthcare cover programs. Eventually, Medicaid and Medicare programs have attracted interest from several Americans, thus leading to their immediate growth (Allen, Swanson, Wang & Gross, 2017). For example, the number of Americans who have acquired the Medicaid and Medicare cover has significantly grown over recent years. Currently, more than a third of Americans are covered under the Medicaid and Medicare programs. The requirement by the federal governments has been the main evolution in the healthcare sector. Generally, Americans are required to be under a program to access healthcare services. Moreover, the programs are contacted differently in different states.
Medi-Cal is the form of Medicaid offered in California. The policies governing Medi-Cal have been under criticism from different Americans. However, one of the policies that need amendment includes the contribution policy. The state government contributes equally to each person under the policy. However, an amendment is required that the income level of the individuals determines the contribution of the government. The amendment should, however, obtain recommendations from pharmaceuticals, who are the primary stakeholders in the healthcare sector in California.
Question 2
Spirituality can be enhanced in the workplace by sensitizing workers on their spiritual roles among each other. Human beings should be defined as spiritual beings who adopt human experiences (Oxhandler et al. 2015). Social work involves several aspects, among them being issues of end of life and trauma management. For example, individuals who have lost people they love need help from social workers to overcome the trauma. Social workers deal with issues affecting their lives while helping their clients to deal with their problems. Spirituality may be essential in helping individuals with life challenges by making clients hopeful. For example, victims of natural disasters need people to give them hope in life. However, spirituality may hinder one from using strategies that are not in line with spiritual beliefs. A strategy that may help in addressing social problems is to align the services to spiritually neutral solutions.
