Hemophilia
My brother has a bleeding disorder known as type A hemophilia. This condition has had a great influence on my career choice. I wanted to be a gynecologist all along in my life. Seeing women delivering new born kids successfully will always enlighten my heart. Being a first born and the only dependent in my family, it has been a difficult journey to achieve my dream. My mother is a small business lady and my father was retrenched from the army when I was in my high school and consequently developed stroke so he depends on us. Iam therefore, the only hope to my family. My brother’s condition has pushed me to work hard to succeed in my career even though it is not related to his condition but it will give me a lee way to pursue my masters in hemophilia related cases.
We have relocated to a rental in a small town because we had to sell our apartment in order to meet some of our daily needs when my father was retrenched. No matter how hard and tough things get, am determined to pursue my dream because I value the health condition of people and I lead the team in my college that advocates for universal and accessible health care to all Americans. I do a security job in a private company just to make sure can raise some little cash to save for my school fees and at the same time supplement my mum with the basic essentials of the house. Despite the fact that I do most of house hold chores because of the precaution that we take on my brother, iam still determined that when pursue my dream and become a successful gynecologist, I will put the health care of women as my earnest priority. I still hope that the doors will open and possibly get a scholarship that will help me pursue my career and keep the health of American women as my priority at the same time advance my studies to help other people who might be having same condition as my brothers.
