Hitlers Cause In World war II
World war II started in 1939 to 1949 by Hitler’s invasion of Poland that caused the death of 50,000,000 people. Countries involved war Germans, Italy, Japan, France, Great Britain, United States, Soviet Union, and China. The following are the causes of World War II.
First, Fascism set up The stage for this war; due to unresolved issues emanating from the instability in Europe that was caused by the first world war(Vasquez, 1996), which took place between 1914 and 1918. German lost the world war I.it It was the first country to start the war and influenced two countries that were in the same alliance to fight each other. Australia Hungary fought Serbia. German signed the Versailles treaty, which they felt was punitive since it had expired in the first world war.
The second Reason for World war II was the Versailles treaty. The main reason for this treaty was to create stability, but it ended up causing war instead. Germans were required to pay for the damage they had caused to civilians during world war I. The treaty stripped them off the right of land acquisition. It also forced them to accept responsibility for World War I. This Fueled Germans’ anger since they felt this was punitive to Germans, leaving them destitute and victimized(Vasquez, 1996).
The third reason is The rise of extremism and forging of Allies. Hitler rose in power during this time of economic and political instability using his National socialist( Nazi Party). Hitler demanded to undo the terms of the Versailles treaty. France and Great Britain did were not eager for confrontation occupied by their internal problems. Hitlers’ was open in his aggression. He went Against the Verstile’s treaty by reaming his country. He signed strategic agreements with Japan and Italy against the Soviet Union. He occupied Austria in 1938 and annexed Czechoslovakia in 1939. Hitler signed German- Aggression Pact with Soviets in 1939 with Joseph Stalin was to get the back up of the Soviets; meaning that if he attached Poland, Soviet was to assist in dividing Poland and it would not attack German. This pack threw Paris and London into Frenzy. German invaded Poland in September 1939. On September 3 the same year, Britain and France declared war on Germany, marking the start of the Second World War(Sontag, 1963)
The fourth reason is economic downturns. The cost of world war I, led many countries in western Europe to borrow from the United States to rebuild their countries. New York stock market collapsed in 1929, and the United States recalled the Loans it had lent to other countries in Europe. Countries were unable to pay up, leading to the great depression. The Versailles treaty that led was punitive to the German economy due to huge sums they were to pay countries like France. The promise of Hitler to abolish these conditions led to a rise in power of his Nazi party.
The fifth reason is the failure of appeasement. After the world, I, countries in Europe weary of war, isolated themselves, leaving the United States in the middle. German became aggressive in expanding its territory; these kept the peace through making Germans happy rather than stop them. Neville pushed for the Munich agreement, which later failed. (Sontag, 1963)
