How Hollywood Stereotyped Native Americans
There has been a common belief in the present-day United States, every so often unspoken and unconscious, that everyone has the right to use Native Americans as they find fit. The idea that everyone owns them. Hollywood is a big promoter of content through motion picture has played a huge role in stereotyping this indigenous race. Just about any movie or film created that involves native Americans, represents them with a tomahawk as well as a knife in hand. This illustration portrays these individuals as if they possessed no more than a barbarous living nature. In a period of 100 years, Hollywood has created thousands of films that depict native Americans as blood-thirsty savages that did not lead a normal life. In contrast to that, Hollywood depicts Euro-Americans as guiltless victims of this barbarism, particularly from male native Americans. Presenting these false images to native children results in internalizing stereotypes that substantially interfere with their development of feelings, attitudes, and racial awareness in young children.
