Leadership through Changes
The organizational goals and objectives may change with the changing business environment. If not properly managed, change may have a huge negative impact on the business. This brings a need for good leadership that understands all the dimensions of change within the organization. The organizations have their missions and visions which guide them while doing their operations. The world is currently facing the problem of coronavirus. The pandemic has changed the operations of many businesses. Some have adapted working at their homes while others closed down completely. This paper will, therefore, research how the coronavirus has affected the organizations’ leadership as long as the change is concerned. The paper will focus on the missions and visions of the organization selected the history and event that disrupted the activities. The research is guided by the questions such as what happened, who brought positive changes, and what style of leadership was utilized during the difficult times.
Mission and Visions of the World Health Organization
World Health organization has been overworking since the coronavirus was declared the pandemic. The organization, as one of its responsibilities, has to respond immediately to any pandemic affecting the world. For that matter, the company has been offering support to all the countries, especially those are mostly affected. The mission of the W.H.O is to advocate and catalyze the global actions to solve the conflicts associated with the health sector and also help in improving the health facilities as a way of mitigating the health problems. Their vision is to make the world a better place where people can live healthily and the productive life. Through its mission and vision, the organization has acted in the last four months through their able leadership to help mitigate the problem of Covid-19.
The event that disrupted the normal operations
In December 2019, the first case of Covid-19 was reported in Wuhan, China. At first, it seemed not to be serious like it is today. In 2020, the disease spread in almost all the countries in the world that was later declared as the pandemic (World Health Organization, 2020). This called for the W.H.O to act immediately. The Covid-19 is affecting many countries at the same time, and so the organization has changed its normal operations to act effectively in all the countries.
The study questions
The research will focus on the following questions which would bring openness to the whole story of Covid-19 about the World Health Organization. The first question will be who brought positive changes, what happened so that the serious steps would be taken, and what style of leadership was used during the difficult times of Covid-19. The four questions will explain many details related to the leadership of the W.H.O and how it has taken part in mitigating the problem of Covid-19. Some of the answers expected to these questions are the people who brought the positive changes are the chief directors and the Presidents from the countries which gave high donations; the serious steps were taken because the death rate of the covid-19 victims was increasing a day to the other, and the style of leadership that was used was democratic that ensured for the equality for all.
