Nick’s pizza and pub case study
Nick’s pizza and pub restaurant have been a franchise that has been doing very well since it opened. It has recently been affected by the economic crises around the country and the plan to expand from two restaurants to five. The guest count has drastically dropped by 20%, making about one million decreases in revenue. The failure is associated with poor management of the restaurant. The current staff has requested for better pay, more hiring, and training for workers.
The first step would be to strategize on the way to deal with the crises. New goals will be m for the business and measures and actions on how to implement them established. A change in leadership would be crucial. All managers must be fired, and new management would be employed. It would consist of a representation of all fields in the restaurant, i.e., the kitchen, bar area, and the service departments. Change of management will provide more input in all areas, and effective cost control measures would be made with the new administration.
Employees will be awarded a slight increase in their salaries following the new management. The growth will be on a condition that the new administration can increase profits and reduce the average cost of running the restaurant. Excellent performance of individuals will attract promotions and bonus pay to motivate the workers to better performance.
Nick’s pizza and restaurant are all about satisfying the customer. New employees would abe hired to fill the gap that is there to ensure that there is effective performance. The employees must exhibit quality performance and must have the potentials if excellent work. The new hires must have had sufficient training and experience in the line of duty. Training will be given to the old and new employees to empower them will the skills and knowledge to execute their responsibilities. All employees shall be informed of their duties and responsibilities upon been employed.
I would also introduce a frequent assessment of every performance of all the staff in the restaurant. These will not only determine the best workers but also decide what changes would be made. New positions will be filled by current employees who deserve it.
