Nursing short staffing is a situation that occurs when nurses’ supply is less than the demand for nurses (Buerhaus et al., 2017). means that the health ministry is hiring fewer nurses that the required number, which leaves the nurse-patient ratio in a bad state. Short staffing of nurses is a result of weak state economies, limited supply of experienced and professional nurses, and an aging workforce population. A shortage of nurses results in increased patient mortality rates due to inadequate attention and weak service fatigue as nurses get subjected to long working hours.

Curriculum Inconsistency

Different nursing institutions use different learning materials. Medicine is a dynamic field that has embraced technology and continuously updates its curriculum (McGillis Hall, et., 08). These updates result in partial but significant changes in the syllabus. Some nursing institutions lack the resources to keep up with the updates and are, therefore, forced to use old research and learning material. Lack of uniformity in the curriculum leaves other nursing students unfit to handle emerging medical issues using recent research and technology.
