Week 4 Humanities
Option #2: Specific artwork influenced by a literary work and how the artist captured the subject or story
The Ancient Greek vase painting is a piece of art that will be captured in this paper. This work of art was influenced by various ancient myths. One of the myths surrounding the ancient Greek vase painting was that the vessel was developed during the geometric period, with its geometric patterns featuring this. This subject of the art having a geometric pattern after being developed during the geometric period is well captured in the famous Dipylon amphora, whereby some geometric patterns are clearly outlined on the piece on looking at the art at face value of it.
Apart from that, the other myth surrounding the literary work of the Ancient Greek vase painting is that the works was developed during the Orientalizing period. This is as confirmed by the animal processions, which is clearly visible in the early Corinthian amphora, located in the British Museum. The artist captured the subject by having a portrait of animals following each other in a consistent flow on the work of art. The animal procession is on the surface of the work of art.
