Dear Senator (name):
I’m a practicing nurse in (state name), and I’m writing to express my support on your HB19-1004 proposal for affordable health care coverage plan. As an individual with necessary information about the health care services, I can say that the current system of health is faced with several crises. One of the biggest crisis being expensive health coverage plans that only a few citizens can afford. Enacting a different health plan could eliminate some of the existing difficulties that a number of people face in obtaining health services. Your proposal attracts my support due to its interest in creating a state public health insurance option. A public option will help reduce the number of uninsured citizens and provide health coverage at an affordable price for everyone.
A state public option will mean government involvement and hence creating a competitive market for the health care providers. Competitive conditions will condition the private providers to cut down their high prices and offer affordable plans to the citizens. Implementation of the proposal will give citizens many health insurance choices to choose from and avail affordable health coverage deals for people with low incomes. Also, those people who their employers do not provide them with health insurance allowances will get a better and affordable option.
If excellent communication about the benefits of the public option is given to the people, then I’m confident that most of the people will go for it. Almost every individual will be covered and will not encounter health services payment problems. For the nurses and other medical physicians, if each individual is insured, then they will be able to offer their services without withholding some necessary services to patients who cannot afford it. A public option will take off the guilt of discriminating health care quality from the physician’s shoulders. Medical professionals will give equal health opportunities if they are assured everyone can afford it.
However, organizations that provide private health care services oppose any change to the current health system. Getting the organizations to adopt a new one will be hard. Private health care providers make a lot of money by providing their services. For them to maintain the flow of the profits they get will place them in the front line of opposing your proposal. I’m sure the organizations will be willing to use their political power to fight the scheme of a public option or a better affordable health coverage plan.
Many citizens, fellow medical influencers and I are anticipating in benefiting from your proposal upon its implementation. As you move forward with the legislation debate, I take pride in your commitment to providing a better healthcare system for everyone. I, therefore, hope you will proceed cautiously, so the state achieves a better-reformed health system. The less disadvantaged people looking forward to your proposal going through will be happy to see an end to the health care crisis. Thank you for considering my views on the issue. If I can be of any assistance during the process, feel free to contact me (name), at (institution and position), (address).
Sincerely,
(Name).
