Policymaking
For years, community groups, researchers, and foundations have been trying to find ways to get valuable information to the legislators. There are several strategies for informing state legislators about lessons learned from agency practices, demonstration projects, research, and related activities.
In-depth interviews, a protocol was developed for conversations with state legislators and another for representatives of policy organizations and ethnic associations. The purpose was to identify the source of information for legislators from communities of color and the poor communities that should be in on a more comprehensive questionnaire.
The computer-assisted telephone survey, this includes development and administration of computer-assisted telephone survey, based on influences from the research literature and the in-depth interviews. Members of the research prepare the questionnaires in consultation with staff from the office of survey research at the institute of public policy and social research at Michigan state university.
