Popular movies are so essential in any course, and learning and history is not an exception. History courses in my take require even more popular film for the learners to have a clear understanding of what is entailed in that particular course. Research has it that visual learning works in a more efficient perception compared to other methods of learning. Statistically, up to 65% of the global population learn better visually. Taking the history courses may be interesting if there is an imposition of popular movies besides the academic course resources. Popular movies are more factual and comfortable for the leaners to put things into perspective. In this perspective, popular movies help history learners to have the information well stuck into their minds. For instance, the history of famous people may be easily kept through popular documentaries compared to a book or an article, which would only be a sentence out of three thousand words.
In intense scrutiny, popular movies bring history into real life. People will tend to go deep into account if they get to watch a couple of popular movies concerning the critical topic in question. Popular movies do attract the attention of the learners, and the information in this regard becomes more deeply brought out that most of the learners who have a higher capability to understand may not need to go back to do any further research on academic resources that popular movie is enough for them. Popular movies also go deep into details on historical events, some of which one may need to read more than a five thousand word article to acquire. Learners will always go for the information that is obtained in the most natural manner possible.
Popular movies are beneficial to the slow learners because most of them always have a problem in reading and understanding, but popular movies which are even translated into the learner’s language make it easier for these group of leaners to be at a per with the rest of the leaners. Through this, we may say that popular movies do inspire learners to learn history because they make learning more efficient. In academic sources, learners do not see characters as real people. Still, through popular movies like the ones which featured Abraham Lincoln and what he did in history, a leaners will, for sure, remember this being that there is a picture of the character already created. In normal circumstances, people do have a little discussion after watching a movie that is popular and relating this to the famous historic movie leaners and encouraged to have conversations about what they have seen. Comparing this to when learners are in a discussion of an academic resource, the concentration is not the same. Popular movies, in my opinion, have a perfect place in pursuing history courses, and students must not be restricted to strict academic resource leaning. ///
