Project Planning and Management
Project Planning and management constitutes the essential aspects of viable production design in an organization. A project plan is a set of guidelines formulated to define the goals and objectives to be achieved over a set timeline. A select collection of tools, techniques, and technologies needs to be customized to suit the requirements and deliver the intended results effectively. Additionally, the sustainability of essential production processes relies on the cost-effectiveness of all production operations as well as the adherence to legal, cultural, and global requirements. Therefore, this essay intends to discuss the pertinent elements of an effective and efficient production plan with the aid of modern technology.
Several production tools have been developed and proven on the effectiveness throughout the 20th Century based on the array of organizations’ needs. My ideal production tools are Kaizen and Jidoka production tools, which are customer, demand-driven, and are focused on the minimum requirements of a product or a service. (xxxx) defines the Kaizen system as a tool that seeks to improve crucial production aspects such as quality, waste reduction, safety, and output. Additionally, Jidoka is a tool referring to partial automation of a production system, which stops on identifying errors and flaws in production (xxxx). Moreover, the tools require high-level techniques such as advanced understanding in information and computer technology, emotional intelligence, and computer software technologies to understand and utilize the emotional compositions of customers and the production team and also maximize human and technology integration.
Lean production refers to modest standard operations procedures that reduce waste and cost of a product or a service while optimizing productivity and quality with customer’s needs. (xxxxx) asserts that lean operations and services are essentially characterized by customer satisfaction through timely customer service, minimum inventory, production efficiency, and waste reduction. The ideal production design will be a minimum viable product, which is based on validated data collected to identify the basic features of the product or service to offer. The features constitute transparency and predictability of pricing, accurate timing, and customization of products and services according to each customer’s requirements.
A viable production design needs to ensure efficiency and waste elimination at all layers of production while maintaining quality standards and accommodating relevant technological advancements sustainably. Sustainability is the capacity of a production plan to maintain output at a specific level for as long as necessary without compromising on social responsibility and the long term viability of the idea (xxxx). The longevity of many organizations depends significantly on sustainable cost-effectiveness and efficient approaches to the achievement of goals. Consequently, the production design will constitute policies that promote employee autonomy, leadership training, and improvement based production systems to ensure flexibility and adaptability to the environmental dynamics. The factors will facilitate the future stresses of the limitations of natural resources, competitiveness.
The implementation of the plan will also require the consideration of external factors that are crucial to the success project plan and execution. The factors include legal, cultural, global, and human requirements. The legal aspects require the production designs to conform to the institutional policy of the governing authorities (xxx). Additionally, the cultural factors are the manifestations, and social beliefs of both customers and employees in society, while the global factors range from political, economic, and social requirements that facilitate smooth operations of by conforming to relevant values appropriately (xxxx). Most importantly, human involvement includes the allocation of suitable tasks according to professional qualifications for optimum output, observing human rights requirements at the national and multinational levels. The production design acknowledges and respects the communities within their environment, which leads to the completion of projects within projected schedules, budgets, as well as achieving team satisfaction, which increases overall productivity.
