Reflection paper on Made Over in America Film
On viewing the made over in America film, I realized that it merges the system of authenticity television with speculative video to lace jointly the opinion of managers and the clients, physicians and their cases, medical psychiatrists, media speculators and young adults who are growing in a society where figures appear to be designed. Jointly they create an example of how the wished to body shape performs in the customer’s society and the way this inclined figure is received by the press, the plastic surgery industry, and the society at large. I also saw Cindy, a San Diego housewife who was always insecure about her physical appearance for the longest period of her life till she had plastic surgery in the first period of FOX’s expression of the Swan. Featured in the video was the Swan, manager Nelly Galan who stated that she established the television show to encourage females. The video was also Cathy, a twenty-one-year-old who had a desire to modify her tummy into cubes.
I also realized that Made over in America also entails organized apparatus on infant’s growth, pictorial films, and, real plastic surgery algorithms. Assemblance collection displaying common pictorials, along with touching narratives of how Americans would go out of their way just to fit in, indicating how the media influences the shaping of plans. The video also made me realize that Made Over in America is the kind of practice that does not give room for customary differences amid aesthetic preoccupation and incitement of ideas (Bernadette and Geoffrey). As the pattern of confusing and beautiful portraits continuously captures your concentration, you are drugged into a current complicated philosophical inquiry such as inquiries that instantly impact our current and future. I also came into a realization that Made Over America is primarily concerned with the various surgery choices, while at the same time also showing how the activity has emerged as an important feature in the society. from the video, I could also see that the film is appropriate for women’s research projects, high school, and university library assemblies.
Plastic surgery is an operational department that entails rebuilding, repairing, and changing of the human physique. The video made me realize that there are two types of reconstructive surgery which entail medical term that relates to the bones of the skull and face such as the one that Cindy had. Cathy’s roommate wished to have a cosmetic surgery which mainly focuses on increasing the outward look of a body part. In this case, she wanted her nose to be minimized into a medium size. In as much as press plays a major part in affecting many individuals’ lives, for example by making individuals trust plastic surgery as a way of altering our recognition to our liking, I trust that plastic surgery infatuation is connected to mental ailments such as dysmorphic disease. I believe there is a connection between body dysmorphic disease victims and the preference of cosmetic plastic surgery as a result of rectifying a discern disorder in their image.
