Reflective Writing: Awareness of Calling and Purpose
I believe that every human being has a life purpose; God created everyone to do different things. I concur with arguments that describe purpose as life; hence, all people must at least have one. Besides, during life development, individuals understand their callings deeper and more clearly. I think I have a purpose in serving other people. I always want to find happiness and everything I do. I hope to get enough fulfillment in helping other people in the future. Besides, I have experienced callings to priesthood, and I hope to fulfill my purpose as a priest. The driving factor of shaping my future is a passion or unreal coercion. I firmly believe that service to other people makes individuals happier and fulfilled. However, I am frightened about whether I got it wrong, or this purpose might change or endure. I am also still unsure about the balance between life and callings.
In the bible, there are several stories of people who served God by serving other people. In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus explains the value and reward for serving God by helping the needy in the society, such as feeding the hungry, visiting patients, and evangelizing. I can relate my case to the call of Moses. God chose him to rescue Israelites from Egypt and lead them to Canaan (Exodus 2:11-3:22). Israelites needed someone to lead them at their most needful moment, and God guided Moses to be that leader. I think it was a calling to serve others as well as my purpose.
Finally, I think my online experience has been excellent so far during the course. I like that I can easily communicate with other students and instructors, enhancing active course participation. Besides, it makes my scheduling for classes more manageable. Now, I do not have any questions about the course and the online environment.
