ROBOTS
An autonomous robot is taken as a particular type of robot specially designed to serve people at home. They are expected to communicate with users intuitively and naturally. The robots are expanding the industries in commercial and Research perspective. And the number of robots is increasing day by day and making human life more comfortable. The traditional service robotics is comparatively older than the human-robot interaction, where robots require minimum interaction for the application domains, security services, and delivery facilities. The robot could perform other things, including message delivery services, entertainment, die duties, educational functions, and security. At present, there is no robot available to perform all these tasks robustly, efficiently, and accurately. Such types of robots are needed to be made that would be able to demonstrate the behavior according to the users, and it would Switch between the infant and adult behaviors as per the mental states.
The robots are expected to educate the children and play with them soon, but it has some downfalls as it would reduce the human interaction for the children, and robot care would be considered a norm. A robotic assistant would be able to do the research work and track documents, but it would generate the feeling that human interaction is weaker as compared to the robot attraction. It might be able to handle all the household work, but it would also cause relationship difficulties and would cause a redundant feeling. Designing modern types of robots are requires to consider many factors. They should be programmed as per different tasks like a full play robot would be a great help in a carefree game, but a severe robot would be preferred where the health-related activities are involved. The users are more likely to get away from the robot and disappoint with them if they are not able to meet up the expectation. There would be a chance of breaking down human-robot interaction if the robot looks like a human, but it cannot carry out duties in an efficient manner. It would also cause to generate a feeling of disgust.
Many factors need to be taken into consideration, such as the image of robots, their behavior, efficiency, etc. Most of the people wanted to have an intelligent service robot which could help them in household work. The youngsters were in favor of domestic robots, which would help them with education and homework, but elders did not want to have such robots at home because they did not want their children to be carefree. (Opera, 2017) Many other things need to be taken into consideration, like the People’s perception, what type of tasks a robot should perform, its appearance, behavior towards other people, etc. Human-robot interaction is being studied and stimulated in the living room. The analysis and trials are being done to make them as efficient as possible so that they would be able to handle a large portion of household work. (William, 2018) The qualities of such robot are increasing day by day also the researchers are getting to file the gaps which are necessary to be filled so that the robots incoming generation would be more efficient and robust. There are many questions which are purchase need to take into consideration while managing and programming a robot; many questions are asked from the people before and after the programming so that the things can be settled as per their requirement and demands.
The level of technical knowledge about the reality of the robot, prior experience with robots, along with the personal details, was taken into consideration while designing a robot for domestic use. When the people were asked, The computer and computer-related Technologies were more than welcome. They were considered to be positive as compared to having a robot company in the home. No significant differences were found as per the age, gender when it was completed against the expertise in Technology. Most of the people want the robot to be an assistant, some of them want them to be e machinery appliances, and only a few of them want to treat them as servants. (Opera, 2017) Many of the people accepted that they would read the robot as their friend and will take care of it. They wanted the robot to look after their children when they are not at home. People wanted the behavior to be a bit, or highly predictable, only a few of the people were neutral, but the predictability e and they wanted the robot to be controllable for highly controllable. Only one person stated that the robot should not be controllable. The robots are expected to be acting better when things come to family members and friends. No concentrate differences were found as per the expertise in Technology or age. (William, 2018) 90% of the people demanded that the robot should be able to do vacuum, while only 10% demanded that it should be able to take care of children. The human-like communication we required by many people and the appearance or behavior was not given much attention. One of the reasons that the Computer technology does not look like the robot is due to the real effect, and the application as the computer is far more accessible and prevalent as compared to the robot Technology. Many of the people were not comfortable having a robot around them.
The studies were done to know more about the attitude of people toward the robot. And the large proportion of the people wanted the robot to be at home. Things are expected to get better with time, and the robot should be designed as per the requirements and demands of the people so that they would be more acceptable by the people. And the need for the robot would be able to generate the demand to balance the market. Also, people would be able to spend their lives more easily.
