Scientific Proof That God Exists
Human life has been dominated with a lot of argument which has continued for many years now, about whether or not God exists. Many philosophers, mathematicians, scientists, and religious doctrines all trying to prove or disapprove the existence of God. There are many arguments which prove the existence of God through the eyes of science and the scientific community.
Existence of the Earth
Creation story has been one of the most debated stories that try to prove the existence of God. The creation story is one of the accepted scientific theories that explain the origin of the universe in other words known as “the big bang theory.” Robert Jastrow who described himself as agnostic stated, “the seed of everything that has happened in the universe was planted in that first instant; every star, every planet, and every living creature in the universe came into being as a result of events that were set in motion in the moment of cosmic explosion (Craig & Smith, 1993). The Universe flashed into being, and we cannot find out what caused that to happen.”
Many scientists continuously reject the biblical point of view about the creation of the earth and the universe in general, but there are many theories from the scientist that tries to fit the existence of God in their science (Craig & Smith, 1993). The law of relativity by Albert Einstein together with other mathematical and scientific methods involves time within their imaginations that they use to explain the existence of the world and the universe. Albert believes that time must have played a part in the creation of the universe. Augustine counters Albert’s belief. Augustine believes God is eternal, and he pre-existed even before time. The world started; it was not always into existence. Scientist lack explanation of for the cause of light explosion and matter.
The perfect size of the earth, how gravity holds layers of gases in the atmosphere, which runs for about 50 miles from the surface of the universe explains the existence of a supreme being behind this beautiful earth (Sagan, 2008). If by any chance, the earth was smaller than its original size, then there would be no atmosphere. If the planets were much larger than their original size, then free hydrogen would be available in the air just like in Jupiter. Earth is the only planet in existence to support human and animal life supported by the correct atmosphere, and a mixture of gases.
Considering the average temperature, we experience on earth which roughly range from -35 degrees Celsius to +120 degrees Celsius, if the planet would be pushed further away from the sun, we would all freeze. A fraction drift of the earth to or away from the sun would make life impossible on the planet (Craig & Smith, 1993). The earth rotates around the sun at a speed of about 67000 mph, allowing every part of the earth to be warmed uniformly. The moon also creates ocean tides and ocean movements which make the ocean waters steady. From science three-quarter of the earth is covered by water, yet it does not spill over across the continents.
Wonders of Water
Water is colorless, odorless, and has no taste, yet no living creature can survive without water. About two-thirds of the human body is composed of water. Water has a significant margin between its boiling and freezing point, which allows us to survive in an environment of fluctuating temperatures. Water being a universal solvent enables minerals and nutrients to be transported throughout our body in small blood vessels. Water also freezes from the top and floats, which enable fish to survive inside the water during winter seasons.
Oceans carry 97 percent of the water present on earth, the remaining 3 percent cannot sustain all the activities on earth (Sagan, 2008). Since oceans waters are very salty, a mechanism is designed making the water evaporate and form clouds leaving the salt in the ocean. The clouds are moved efficiently by winds and distribute the waters on the dry land for the animals, and plants use.
Human Brain
The human brain is capable of processing bulky information. The human brain is capable of recording everything that the eyes see, changes of temperature, pressure your body exerts on the ground, sound from different instruments and animals, and also processes emotions and thoughts (McNamara, 2006). At the same time, the brain can track your breathing process and other functions of the body. The human brain has the capability of processing more than one million messages in one second. The human brain can filter less critical information.
The brain does not function like other parts of the body. The mind can think, produce feelings, and create relations with other people. The human eye is also capable of differentiating more than seven million colors (McNamara, 2006). The human eye is capable of handling 1.5 million images simultaneously. Evolution focuses mainly on transformation, within an existing creature, yet it cannot explain the source of the brain or the eye, this indicates there is a Supernatural Being behind many scientific theories.
Laws of Nature
A hot cup of coffee left on the coffee table gets cold, complete rotation of the earth takes 24 hours, the speed of light remains constant, this shows that there are regular events that never change no matter what climatic conditions take places (Sagan, 2008). A lot of questions arises like, why do the laws of nature never change? Why is the universe so organized, and always in order? Many scientists have been puzzled, and unable to explain how the laws of nature do not change, or the orderly organization of the world. There exists no reasonable requirement for the universe to submit to the discovered laws of nature. Imagine a universe in which conditions like gravity, or the speed of light change unpredictably from one instance to another (Sagan, 2008). A Nobel Prize winner for significant electrodynamics Richard Feynman once said, “Nature is mathematically still a mystery even though there are rules at all, it remains a kind of miracle.”
The DNA
Each cell in our body is encoded with different instructions just like a computer program. Computer programs are made up of ones and zeros. Arrangement of the ones and zeros tells the computer what it is required to handle or do. Just like a computer DNA in each cell perform the same way (McNamara, 2006). DNA is made up of chemicals such as A, T, G, and C. the DNA provides the cell with instructions just like how we press our phones expecting particular output. One may ask who was in charge of the programming of the cells. Natural and biological occurrences lack explanation when it comes to programmed information. A Supernatural Power might have been involved which is God
Facts from the Bible
From the biblical point of view, Jesus came and claimed to be the son of God. Jesus affirmed the existence of God. Through God, Jesus performed many miracles which were beyond human imagination (Mark 4:35-41) Jesus and his disciples were in a boat when strong winds accompanied by storm hit the sea (Swinburne, 2004). The ship in which Jesus and his disciples were traveling in was nearly swamped. Jesus was wakened up from a deep sleep and calmed the storm down; the peace in the sea was restored which showed how God had power over nature. (Mathew 14:22-33) Disciples of Jesus left him on the shore got inside the boat, and left (Swinburne, 2004). Jesus went to the mountain to pray, later before dawn he went out to them walking on water. Peter tried walking on water like Jesus but he almost sunk. Jesus also fed 5000 people with two loaves of bread, and five fish, which was impossible before many people. Jesus even raised the dead. All these miracles performed by Jesus were against the laws of nature which proved that God had power over nature.
Jesus called associated himself with Natural thing that supported life. Jesus was quoted saying, “I am the light of the world, he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but he will have the light of life.” Jesus also died and resurrected on the third day hence defeating death which had not happened before.
Conclusion
God does not force people to believe in him. God provides enough proof that He is existing. The distance of the earth from the sun, how human brain functions, the capability of the eye, DNA are some of the scientific proofs that God exists. Gods gave his only son Jesus to the world to die so that we can be forgiven our sins. Jesus through his Father who is God performed many miracles defeating nature which proved the existence of God.
