Strategic vision for reconciliation in Canada
Reconciliation in Canada aimed at healing the scars of indigenous peoples, that was created during colonization. It mostly focused on how children of first nations were treated and therefore targeted to have a permanent, lasting change in their lives. Reconciliation for Canadians is essential because it creates a good relationship among Canadians, and it creates a great future. According to Reconciliation Canada Ambassador Chief Dr Robert Joseph, “Our future, and the well-being of all our children, rests with the kind of relationships we build today. Reconciliation strategy was developed based on general policy directions and feedback from stakeholders of various departments and engaging with indigenous people. Conciliation involves understanding, communication and change.
Conciliation process involves educating the public about the challenges of indigenous people and need to realize their rights. Creating awareness of economic, social and cultural benefits that will result from a good relationship among all Canadians also helps to eliminate myths about indigenous peoples. Encouraging other communities and organization to engage in talks and activities with first nations, Inuit and M’etis result in a viable reconciliation approach.

Acknowledgement and support kinship of first nations is crucial because they play a vital role in our lives by giving us a sense of belonging. Therefore, I would thank them for land acknowledgement. A land acknowledgement is the most appropriate way to appreciate first nations, m’etis and Inuit.it can be presented through verbal or visual, for example, a spoken word or art that memorialize indigenous peoples.
