There are several social intuitions, but out of them all, one interests me the most. The following essay highlights the institution and aspects of that institution that I am interested in and the reasons for the interests. It also offers a summary of three sources describing the institution.
I am interested in is education, and the specific aspects of this institution that i find interesting include early childhood education and special needs education. Education is exciting because it is only through it that a person can stand out as equal with all the other persons irrespective of creed, gender, and caste because it the most critical tool to change a person’s life. With education, a person’s chances of securing a job are increased. Thus, education improves people’s lives. Early childhood education and special needs education are interesting because they cater to the most vulnerable sections of the children population. The reason is that learning in first childhood years and children with disabilities has often been neglected. Early education forms the foundation of a child’s future development, developing a base for lifelong learning abilities, including emotional, social, and cognitive development. Special education educates children with disabilities through a form of instruction that identifies and addresses their individual needs and differences, enabling them to learn like other children.
Of the many resources on education, I find three to be the most useful. The first one is the ‘‘critical assessment of higher education and economic development’’. According to this article, higher education enrollment translates to improved economic development (Ngware). With education, product development and technological innovation are made possible and hence the enhanced economic growth. ” defining quality in early childhood education: parents’ perspectives” is second. The source urges parents and guardians to be active participants in their children’s early learning (Sollars). It accomplishes this by showing the reduced involvement of parents in their children’s early education. ”Planning for and assessing children with special educational needs and disabilities” is the third source. Authors of this source provide educators with strategies that they can use to address the needs of special learners (Vickerman & Maher, 2018). According to the source, learners with disabilities can achieve optimal learning if their needs are met.
