Values Assignment
I consider the five values vital to me: faith, individuality, patience, health, and confidence.
- Faith: I have a strong religious background provided by my parents and my heritage. The principle allows me to persevere through any challenge and through any scenario that requires bravery. It is a value I am currently living by during this pandemic crisis in believing that I will overcome any hurdles I am facing, whether financial or mental. I need faith to get me by through anything as it says in the Bible, “Faith without actions is useless.’
- Individuality: I believe in the idea of being true to oneself. It includes characters and personalities. Other people should never define us for who we are. I adhere to this value as a daily norm, and it allows me to express myself for who I am, regardless of how people perceive me. From a defense point of view, individuality makes us unique and easily distinguishable from others, especially in the workplace.
- Health: health is a critical factor in our lives. I live by this: a healthy body and healthy mind give a strong endurance and grace. I have to take care of what I eat, what I read, what I listen to, and how I think. These are critical factors to how I live by my individuality. I mostly eat organic foods, drink healthy, including juices, and listen to podcasts and spiritual-based teachings. I consider that how I eat, live, and breathe can determine if I live longer or not, especially in today’s world, filled with many illnesses that originate from unhealthy living.
- Patience: I am a very patient person regardless of the pressure or calmness of a situation. It is a trait I profoundly believe in since it allows me to think rationally, especially during this pandemic.
- Confidence: this links back to individuality. I believe that regardless of the outcome or moment, I must have confidence as a tool to overcome any controversy or issue. Whenever I walk into a room full of strangers, I walk in with my head up, and shoulders back and stealthily walk to my seat. Also, how I walk daily, I need to show confidence.
Case Study
As the CEO, I would not fire Harry Summer. From a cost-benefit perspective, Summer has provided more benefits to the company than any other individual. From a leadership standpoint, Summer exudes hard work, determination, spirit, enthusiasm, and honesty. Working in a bank requires a specific type of character which is morally-bound, and Summer highlights these. It would not be justifiable to fire him under dismal cases such as missing $ 100, which he can easily replace.
