Community health
Community health is a field of public health that deals with people and their role in ensuring a healthy life. Mainly, this study allows health providers to learn how people affect their health as well as that of others around them. Specifically, there is a need to utilize this knowledge on epidemiology in addressing health issues in a community like lower suntan in Arizona.
Essentially, lower Santan village community has in the past suffered infectious diseases as a result of the dirty water and the impure air as a result of the congestion. There is a need to study such an area which can be achieved through the collection of data on the population in the village and the frequency of various infections. This collection of data is an integral part of community health as it helps in ensuring that control of highly infectious diseases is informed by knowledge of distribution. Essentially, one of the issues provided by the healthy goals 2020 is the provision of social and physical environments that support good health.
In this community, there is a need to ensure awareness on epidemics like cholera which are likely to erupt as a result of the poor drainage and lack of clean water. Notably, this goal could be achieved through holding sensitization campaigns which emphasizes the educating role of a community health nurse. Primarily, these campaigns may be used in educating the community of lower Santan on the need to ensure social facilities such as hotels and other places of eating are clean. Additionally, to enhance this practice, there is a need to study the culture of these group to learn how exercises that involve the handling of food and social interactions contribute to the spread of respiratory diseases and cholera. This knowledge could help focus on prevention.
Conclusion
Community health is a very significant branch of public health. In essence, there is a need to enhance practice in this field through the collection of data and the education of communities. In particular, to prevent spreading of respiratory diseases and cholera in lower suntan, there is a need to improve the social and physical environment.
