different perspectives on the abuse of children.

Personality traits and human behaviors have a close connection with parental background and response. According to Diana Baumrind, there are four main parenting styles to include: – permissive, authoritarian, authoritative, and uninvolved parents (Afifi et al, 2018). The four aspects of deliberate issues of parent-child bonding and response about a child’s growth and needs. Parental cold treatment and lack of engagement lead to stress, depression, or other withdrawal patterns in the child’s behaviors. The paper will shed light on different perspectives on the abuse of children.

Divorce, parental conflicts in the form of fights or separation, and continuous disagreements lead to mental torture. According to Bohman et al., 2017, parental argument often renders children to miss on emotional love, parental care, lack of basic needs or quality time, and feedback from caregivers. The series of lack and conflicts act as mental tortures to children’s psychological development since they are exposed to harsh and unwarranted risks. The consequent attitudes in children entail bipolar disorders, anxiety, depression, drug, and substance abuse, and long-life isolation from standard life patterns.

Other scholars suggest that rape, mistreatment, shame, and denial of child rights are forms of abuse. When children are exposed to the above vulnerabilities, they often acquire low self-esteem and lack confidence and health deterioration due to continuous trauma. The incremental theories suggest that children are entitled to consistent positive attitudes and values to overcome specific challenges during growth (Bosquet Enlow, Englund, & Egeland, 2018). However, rape, neglect, or denial of rights renders children with helpless conditions for growth and inability to handle future social aggressions.

Uninvolved and authoritative parenting leads children to suffer from rejection, isolation, and parental discrimination that cause mental abuse in children. This is evident in the way children develop anti-social attributes due to their parents’ lack of response and concern for their growth behaviors. Children with a background of molestation, physical abuse, and deprived love or affection suffer from the inability to socialize and adjust to adulthood calmly due to disrupted brain growth (Moehler, & Resch, 2017).

In conclusion, parental support and involvement play a significant role in alleviating mental abuse and growth abnormities in children. The effects of the psychological abuse entail drug and substance abuse, depression, anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorders. This research paper will add to the existing literature by expounding on the specific mental abuse impacts that children suffer during their development.
