Growing up in an economic challenge globe
Growing up in an economic challenge globe, one needs to seek financial support from any institution that is willing to lend out money. After I started my small enterprise that dealt with car exports, I faced substantial financial problems. To avoid going bankrupt, I joined a credit lending institution that used to loan people money. The rules stipulated that one had to pay within a specified duration. Nonetheless, since I knew a friend in the institution, I was permitted continuously to extend the deadline. It became a habit, and I was prompt to paying my loans past due. At a certain point, the institution conducted overall strategic change, and all the employees were redistributed to the other branches. Furthermore, a new penalty was introduced for late loan payers. In the first few months, I paid penalties for my late payments. Eventually, I had to train myself to promptly re-pay my debts on time. From experience, I learned that a bad habit could be addictive.
‘Behavioral approach ‘ means the world is shaped in a way that adapts the likelihood of the intended behavior (McLeod, 2007). The theory of reinforcement is used to raise the likelihood. For instance, when an employer lacks voluntary employees to work on Sundays, they may introduce a policy that triple employees’ wages on Sunday to entice employees to come to work on Sunday’s. From the above example, the policy was the reinforcement.
On the other hand, to decrease the probability, the punishment principle may be applied. The introduction of a penalty for late payment acts as a form of punishment (McLeod, 2007). Finally, the principle can be used to eliminate the behavior (Bandura, 1977). For instance, at the sliding glass windows, your Doberman barks for entry into the house. The entire family opened the door quickly to allow her in. You initiate a strategy to avoid her barking and just open the door when she looks at you and sits down. Under these circumstances, she eventually ceases barking. In response to barking, changes in the atmosphere caused the door to be not opened. Since barking failed to open the door, the barking was never stopped. A new activity has also been discovered that has been improved.
