Modernism in arts termed as the abandonment of the traditions of the Victorian era and focusing on the industrial age, issues about real life. Innovation began in the 19th century through the 20th century, with it at a peak in the years of 1960s. The spirit of modernism in art is much credited to the freedom given to artists. The development of modern art was also spearheaded by the study of psychology, which studied human experiences in length and brought about visual arts, which had a lot of science in them.

This is because it was concerned about the broader changes which take place in our societies. The reason as to why modernists rejected traditional art was the belief that they would discover modern and new ideas of making art. The expectation was that their audience would have the curiosity in preconceptions through questioning themselves.

Through the use of Imagery, alliteration, rhetorical questions, and also assonance among others has made his work capture the new aspects of art in society. Demoiselles, in his painting work, have used different forms of art and content to culture the modernist ideas in his work. The new styles introduced in his art, for example, the titles to his painting, bring about an ability to shock the audience. He has also been presented as the one who spearheaded the onset of splintered forms, which gave birth to the pictorial art.
