revision and the writing process, research, and critical reading.
ENGL 2030 has been an intriguing, interactive, and great class that has significantly strengthened my research writing skills. Through the readings, videos, discussions, assignments, and feedback from peers and instructors, I have achieved a high level of competence in research-based and other types of academic writings. I have successfully achieved the course outcomes that were set before the class began. These outcomes include revision and the writing process, research, and critical reading.
The class involved submitting drafts for peer review and instructor’s feedback. These feedback and revisions helped me to achieve the revision and the writing process outcome effectively. For instance, I submitted an exploratory narrative research blog draft and received feedback from my peers which helped me to perfect the paper. In the draft, I score 72/75, but I was able to score full points in the final exploratory narrative research blog because I utilized the peers’ and instructor’s feedback. Additionally, this outcome is also visible in that argument analysis task that I did. I submitted a draft that analyzed the use of rhetoric in the article “Violent Media is Good for Kids”. From the draft, I received feedback from the peers and the tutor on how I could revise the thesis and incorporate other elements of rhetoric analysis like the rhetoric situation. I incorporated these feedback, which helped me to earn a higher grade. In addition to getting a higher grade, I also received a great comment from the instructor, which affirmed that I had successfully achieved this outcome. The instructor commented that I had a strong initial analysis, but the changes that I made were effective, and they improved my analysis.
