The condition that will be covered in this paper is depression. This condition is common to people across all gender, race, and age groups. There are various resources for depressed clients seeking care within my community. One of these resources is counselors and psychologists. Apart from that, the other resource is the social groups within the society. Such platforms help in providing the depressed with necessary support.
For the depressed clients, one of the findings that may necessitate a need for further in-depth assessment for the condition is when the condition has persisted for a while after interventions such as counseling. Apart from that, the other finding that may necessitate a need for further in-depth assessment is on the coping mechanism of the condition, whether this is associated with some form of substance addiction.
The focused specialty assessment tool that can be used to screen a depressed client is the Major Depression Inventory, which is a self-rating scale that is used to diagnose or measure depression. Apart from that, the other tool that can be used, in this case, is the PHQ-9 Test.
As mentioned earlier, the specific resources that I located within my community are the counselors and the psychologists. These people can help in the diagnosis and advise on effective coping mechanisms for a case of depression. The services offered by these professions are basically counseling services. The specific resource that I was hoping to locate but could not find is a clinic for the depressed. There is no health facility that specializes in people with depression.
