The US Patriot Act stands for uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and obstruct the Terrorism Act of 2001. It is a legislation that was passed by Congress on September 11, 2001, to reduce terrorist attacks. this was after a terrorist attack had occurred in that period and thus President George W. Bush in 2001 signed the US Patriotic Act into law. Through this, it opened the search for intelligence agencies and surveillance authorities for federal law enforcement agencies. Besides, the Act was amended in 2003 in which several other changes with statutes concerning telephone privacy and communication electronically, immigration, money embezzlement, and foreign Intelligence Surveillance changed. The amendment incorporated ad defines new crimes and heightened punishment for existing crimes. The purpose of the USA Patriotic Act is to prevent and punish terrorist acts in the U.S and global domain. Section 314 of the Act aids in law enforcement by identifying, disrupt, and deter terrorist acts and even as well as activities that might facilitate cooperation among financial institutions. The Act strengthens US measures to prosecute financing of terrorism and money laundering activities. The incidence occurred in their neighborhood in which the residents are Latino with up to half of the population were sired in another country. Two women were reported to have attacked the mother and her daughter on the street, kicking, punching and biting them as narrated by the prosecutor, the women were heard yelling “This is America! Speak English!” This prompted a felony and attracted hate-crime charges against the two women who attacked the mother and her daughter. This scene elucidated outrage in Boston, the city that is historically known for violence and racial strife. The country district attorney claimed that they had no bigotry and no room for hatred within Suffolk Country. Besides, he added that the privileges of the dependence and their sense of entitlement that they had felt that made them utter such words of racism and hate, and further attacked the mother and her daughter for speaking Spanish and laughing is reprehensible and outrageous. The two women were to appear in the court for charges including violation of constitutional right through felony counts, body injury, assault, and battery as another two misdemeanors. The defendant’s prosecutors claimed that the two women had been drinking before the incident, but the report produced by the police indicate that the defendants thought that the plaintiffs had been making fun of them in a language they could not understand. However, it had been a norm for Latino victims experiencing racial violence in Eats Boston to experience a lack of justice with the way the police were slow to handle their cases. they were outraged since their cases were not done concerning the proper procedures hence never got their justice.
